Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our governing body as a Co-opted Governor. As a Co-opted Governor, you will play a crucial role in upholding and advancing the mission and values of Elloughton Primary School. Your commitment to our moral compass will guide our strategic decisions and ensure that our school continues to provide a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Co-opted Governor, you will contribute to the three main roles of school governors, which include but are not limited to:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction.
2. Setting long-term plans for the school, identifying areas for improvement, and overseeing their implementation.
3. Holding the headteacher accountable for the educational performance of the school, as well as the effective and efficient performance management of staff.

Qualifications and Attributes:
- Commitment to the mission and values of Elloughton Primary School, as articulated in our moral compass statement.
- Relevant skills or experience in finance/accounting, human resources, data, education, or related fields (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset, with the capacity to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
- Ability to attend full governing body meetings and around six committee meetings per year.
- Willingness to spend time in school during the day for visits.
Additional Information:
- This position is voluntary and unpaid, with full training provided.
- All governors must be 18 or over and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
