Introduction

Welcome to our Parent Section

We hope you will find all the information you need by using the drop down menus or the links contained within this page.

Term Dates

Term dates are available to view here:  School Term Dates 2025 - 2026

Before and After School Club

Our Before and After School Club are designed to provide your children with wrap around care during the school week.

Uniform

The uniform section is a guide to our accepted uniform dress code and contains a direct link to Rawcliffes the company who supply our uniforms.

Mobile Phones/devices

Pupils’ personal mobile phones/devices are not allowed in school other than the older Year 6 children who have them for safety whilst going to and from school. Mobile devices must be switched off on the school site and handed to class teachers as they arrive in the morning.  The device can be collected once the bell goes at the end of the school day. Whilst mobile devices will be kept in school, we cannot take responsibility for any damage or loss.  Children should not have mobile phones/devices in bags and/or in coat pockets..

Photographs/Recording Devices

During the course of the school year, we often have occasions when the children may be photographed e.g. by the local newspapers to celebrate events or school activities.  Such photographs may be used for displays, in newsletters, on the school website, on Twitter and other promotional material.  From time to time we may also record presentations and performances of the children to be used within school.

Names of children are never disclosed on material used outside of school.  If you DO NOT wish your child to be photographed or recorded, please inform the school office.

There may be occasions when parents wish to photograph/record their child in school activities/productions.  We would ask that any media obtained in this way should be for personal family use only and NOT shared on any social networking sites.

Travelling to and from School

At Elloughton Primary School we encourage walking, cycling or scooting to school.  Not only is the fresh air and exercise beneficial for the children in helping encourage a healthy lifestyle but it can also become a teaching time to foster independence and road safety. If your child would like to come to school on their bike or scooter we have provision for storage in the bike shelter in the front playground.  We ask that if your child is cycling to school they should be encouraged to wear a helmet.

Parking/dropping off in the car park is not permitted at any time. The only exception to this is if you hold a disabled parking badge which entitles you to park in our disabled parking bay. Other than that the car park is not to be used under any circumstances, however brief your visit.  We have a Parking Charter available to view on our website under the policy section.

Children must not scoot or cycle within the playground on arrival or the end of the day for health and safety reasons.

Snacks

Children in Key Stage 1 are offered fresh fruit, at no extra cost to you or the school, as part of promoting healthy schools which is a government funded initiative.

If you wish your child to have a midmorning snack at playtime we ask that you only supply fruit. Sweets, snack bars and crisps are not to be brought to school for snacks.

The school holds a ‘Tasty Tuck’ shop on a Friday morning at break time. Pupils can purchase milk shakes, juice, and warm bagels at a cost 30p each.

Water Bottles

Children are encouraged to drink water regularly in school.  We ask that parents ensure all water bottles have a sports cap top and are named and taken home each day to be washed.  We encourage children to bring in bottles already filled with water (no juice/fizzy flavoured waters please).

Reach More Parents

The payment system we currently use is Reach More Parents and enables you to pay for lunches, school trips, clubs and before and after school care.

Absence from school

If you need to take your child out of school during term time we can only authorise absences in exceptional circumstances, these can be found in the policy section under "Absence from School in Exceptional Circumstances Policy".  Should you need to submit a request to take your child out of school the form can be downloaded here:. Absence from School Request Form

Dogs

In the interests of safety parents must not bring their dogs onto the school premises
If you choose to leave your dog outside school please ensure that it is not likely to cause upset to any other members of the community, particularly small children.

Pupil Privacy Notice

The Pupil Privacy notice explains our data protection practices and the ways in which your personal data is used you can read it here: Pupil Privacy Notice.

Our Prospectus

To read a copy of Our Prospectus please telephone the school office on 01482 666231 and we can arrange to have one sent to you.  You will also receive a copy of the Prospectus following a show round of our school.

NHS School Absence Leaflet

The NHS have provided a "School Absence Leaflet" which we feel gives good guidance on medical conditions that may affect your child attending school.  If you would like anything clarifying please contact us directly on the school office number provided.   Please read it here: NHS School Absence Leaflet.
