Welcome to Elloughton Primary School Nursery
We are pleased to offer Nursery provision to compliment our thriving Reception Class. Our caring and committed teaching staff offer children experiences rich in excitement and discovery, in a happy and safe environment. It is also the first step into the Elloughton family and facilitates a smooth transition to the school.
Our Nursery Vision:
To empower our children to be independent, well rounded individuals who have a love of learning and seek challenge in everything they do.
We are committed to offering children an experience that will foster and nurture a love of learning. Within a safe and stimulating environment, we build secure and trusting relationship which allows our children to flourish. We take the time to get to know children, as individuals, ensuring that each child’s experience is tailored to their needs and fascinations.
Elloughton Primary School embraces the Early Years Foundation Stage, a principle-led, child centred and play –based framework. Our approach is guided by the effective characteristics of learning.

The aims of the Nursery are:
- To provide a happy atmosphere in which children may thrive.
- To provide an engaging environment and active learning experiences which take account of, and respond to, the children’s developmental needs and interests. “What the child can do” will be our starting point.
- To ensure the children have positive experiences of success at their own levels now, in order to give them confidence and motivation for learning in the future.
- To provide a curriculum which offers purposeful play opportunities and promotes the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- To create a partnership with parents and the local community that supports and enhances the development of the children.
- To encourage all children to become happy, independent, social and kind young individuals.
We invite you to visit us in our vibrant, welcoming environment where you will experience our family ethos and see for yourself something truly special!
