Our aim is to ensure that every child is able to access learning, achieve their potential and develop confidence in their own abilities. We work collaboratively with families and external professionals to support pupils so that children remain at the heart of their own learning journeys.

‘The Treehouse’
The Treehouse is a designated nurture space. It is a support base designed to aid the social, emotional and communication needs of our children.
Our vision:
The Treehouse sits at the heart of our school, meeting children’s individual needs while ensuring they remain an important part of our Elloughton Family’.
The Treehouse allows staff to provide additional scaffolding, smaller group learning opportunities, and tailored strategies. These approaches support pupils to develop independence, confidence, emotional regulation, and the communication and interaction skills they need to succeed both within the provision and in the wider classroom environment.

EYFS Zen Den
Within our Early Years learning environment we have introduced a Zen Den. This carefully designed space provides children with a calm and quiet area where they can practise self-regulation strategies.
The Zen Den allows children to access calming activities, take quiet time when needed and develop emotional regulation skills before returning to learning. This forms part of our wider commitment to supporting wellbeing and ensuring all pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

The Nest & The Hive
Our sensory spaces have been designed with calming lighting, gentle music, and a range of sensory objects to support children who may struggle with communication or who need help regulating their emotions. The environment is safe, welcoming, and relaxing, allowing children to take time away from busy or overwhelming situations.
The spaces include features such as soft lighting, soothing sounds, and sensory resources like textured toys and cushions that help engage the senses in a calming way. These elements can help children feel more comfortable, reduce anxiety, and support emotional regulation.
Our sensory spaces provide a quiet place where children can relax, explore sensory activities, and regain a sense of calm before returning to their learning.
The Learning Lodge
An additional space has been created for our KS2 pupils to access if they become overwhelmed by situations or the environment of the mainstream classroom. This allows them access to a quieter environment to concentrate, reduce their levels of anxiety and support self - regulation.
